Responsibilities Enters data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement/payment, utilizing knowledge of drugs, medical nomenclature, and the metric system Reads and inputs written prescriptions and medical data, including performing drug calculations and interpreting physicians’ orders into the computerized med. order systemPerforms computer system operations which may include order entry, billing, crediting, and updating medical recordsInputs daily orders (new and refills)Audits the input versus documentation and makes corrections as requiredGenerates reports as neededIdentifies and resolves issues of denials or follow-up of claims, by maintaining current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processesParticipates in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Data Entry TechniciansMay enter IV medication orders into medication order systemPerforms Pharmacy Technician duties as requiredPerforms other tasks assignedConducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; National PTCB Technician Certification desiredOne year experience in data entry in a long-term care pharmacyAbility to communicate effectively, work as a member of a team, recognize and identify patient medicationsSkilled in operating a computerSkilled in performing detailed workKnowledge of Medicaid claims regulations and processesAs required by state, technician licensure or certification in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, ArkansasPossess Communication, Initiative, Problem-solving, Team Orientation, Leadership, Detail-orientation skills About our Line of Business PharMerica is a full-service pharmacy solution providing value beyond medication.
