Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under the direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups (includes geriatrics, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal). Work and/or performance shall conform to written established hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school graduate or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.One year of Pharmacy experience preferred.NJ State License within 180 days of employmentPreferred:

Per Diem EveningEssential Functions:
Assist in care and maintenance of Departmental premises and equipment.Attends all mandatory/departmental inservices as recommended by regulatory agencies.Communicates all discrepancies and information requested to a Registered Pharmacist.Complies with all national patient safety goals/risk prevention processes and associated policies and procedures as applicable to scope of practice.Courtesy and cooperation in dealing with customers and vendors.Delivers drug orders and carts.Demonstrates knowledge, skill requirements and expected level of participation in the safety and infection control management program.Displays self initiative in anticipating and resolving daily work issues.Maintains floor stock medications.Maintains the confidentiality, security and integrity for the management of associate/patient information according to policy and procedure.Oversees volunteer staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with hospital policies and procedures.Proficient in use of Pharmacy computer, and other departmental software, as required for position.Benefits and Perks:
