Job Details The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Responsibilities: Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent, College courses desirable Pharmacy Technician Certificate required New York State License required Basic computer skills 2 – 3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required Salary Range USD $29.92 - USD $37.41 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
