Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

This onsite position is located in Chandler, Arizona. The Pharmacy Technician performs data entry and patient registration in accordance with state and federal regulations. The role involves resolving third-party rejects, responding to high volume customer inquiries, and working under direct supervision. Duties are performed according to standard operating procedures and company policies, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information. Responsibilities may vary based on the assigned department.

ResponsibilitiesProcess new patient registration by entering data into the appropriate system, handling patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines, entering refill orders for processing, troubleshooting missing prescription information, interpreting medical abbreviations (SIG codes), and resolving data entry-related exceptions.Handle correspondence with patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed.Resolve Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make telephone calls to insurers and others to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve the Third Party Rejects.Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both in the facility and at other locations. Obtain an active technician license or certification within the first 90 days and maintain an active technician license or certification.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED.Current AZ Pharmacy Technician License/Registration without restrictions in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy (for Pharmacy Tech levels).Basic level PC skills including starting up and shutting down a computer, using a mouse, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, and accessing information online.Basic Search Engines skills including opening a browser, typing URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents).Effective communication skills in writing and verbally.18 years of age or older.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.At least 18 months of experience as a pharmacy technician with a certificate/registration by the state Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification agency.Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents).Fluency in Spanish.Work Environment

The work hours are from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime available on Saturdays after a 4-week training period. Flexibility is required to work an 8-hour shift between these hours.
