Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for filling prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, and labeling products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels. You will also participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy, check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory. Additionally, you will prepare medications, which may include non-sterile compounding. Responsibilities + Fill prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy. + Package medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards. + Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels. + Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy. + Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory. + Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding. Essential Skills + 6+ months of experience working in long-term care, retail, or hospital pharmacy settings. + High School Diploma. + Data entry skills. + Experience in pre-packaging and filling prescriptions. + Fulfillment skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in a pharmacy setting and familiarity with medical terminology. + Ability to operate a computer. + Ability to recognize and identify medications. + Team player, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented. Work Environment This position is based in a long-term care facility with a work schedule of 8:00 pm to 4:30 am, Monday through Friday, with the requirement to work every other weekend. The position is initially a 3-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension and potential for permanent hire. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
