Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician responsible for processing prescriptions, adjudicating claims, assisting with medication orders, collecting medication histories, and participating in multidisciplinary rounds. This role involves facilitating the delivery of medications to patients and their families, coordinating payments, and communicating issues to pharmacists and the Prior Authorization Team. Excellent communication skills are required for interacting with patients and their families both in-person and via telephone. Additional responsibilities include participation in service line meetings, inventory management, processing co-pay cards, and completing prior authorizations. The ideal candidate will be conscientious and focused on all patient needs related to the discharge medication process.

ResponsibilitiesProcess prescriptions through the pharmacy system, including adjudicating claims to third-party insurance plans.Assist with filling medication orders accurately and in a timely manner.Collect medication histories as part of the medication reconciliation process.Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.Facilitate the delivery of medications to patients and their families in hospital and clinic settings.Coordinate payments and communicate issues to pharmacists and the Prior Authorization Team.Interact with patients and their families via telephone and in-person.Participate in service line meetings as required.Manage inventory and process co-pay cards issued by drug company programs for eligible patients.Complete prior authorizations based on the volume on the assigned unit.Communicate with multiple providers, insurance companies, specialty pharmacies, and other aspects of discharge medication management.Perform all roles of a normal technician, including production, prescription processing, and delivery.Essential SkillsData entryCustomer serviceRetail pharmacy experiencePharmacy technician certification (Cpht)Compounding skillsStrong communication skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsRetail experienceExperience as a lead techExperience in specialty pharmacyExperience with prior authorizations2+ years of experience in a related fieldWork Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
