Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician will assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.

ResponsibilitiesFill prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, package medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.Participate in the periodic inventory of drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.Assist in the training of new employees.Service facility-based medication dispensing machines.Essential SkillsRegistered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Tennessee.High school diploma or equivalent.6 months to 1 year of related experience.Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.Ability to use metric system and avoirdupois measures.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent data entry and customer service skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPharmacy Technician certification (Cpht).Experience in health care, compounding, and data entry.Work Environment

The work environment is a closed-door pharmacy where you can focus on fulfilling the pharmaceutical needs of our long-term care. This is a non-retail pharmacy environment, more akin to a production/fulfillment/warehouse setting. Shifts available include 2:30pm-11pm Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends on call.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
