Job Responsibilities Assist with pharmacy services by accurately and efficiently assembling and dispensing medications. Handle prescriptions via paper and electronic formats. Process prescriptions through insurance, ensuring the lowest possible out-of-pocket costs for patients. Communicate with providers and patients via phone, computer, and face-to-face interactions. Maintain records in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations. Manage inventory, including controlled substance inventory and daily stock maintenance. Perform non-sterile compounding. Attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent customer service, and dependability are essential. Exhibit a positive attitude and a passion for high-quality, compassionate patient care. Willingness to continually grow, learn, and embrace different cultures in a diverse environment. Ensure compliance with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy licensing requirements and necessary training. Job Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy (Trainee or Registered/Certified) is required. National certification from an accredited pharmacy technician program (PTCB, ExCPT, etc.) is preferred. Knowledge of the 340B program is a plus. Prior experience in a retail pharmacy is preferred. Familiarity with Allscripts and PioneerRx software systems is advantageous. Understanding of laws and regulations affecting the medication dispensing process is preferred. Familiarity with third-party payer benefits and troubleshooting rejected claims is beneficial. Ability to accurately enter data, preferably typing at a minimum of 45 words per minute. Competence in accurately inputting prescriptions and other information as directed by a pharmacist. Ability to handle difficult situations with good judgment, emotional control, and diplomacy. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits efficient and courteous telephone skills. Possesses resilience, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. Capable of working in a team setting or independently with minimal supervision. Equipment Operated Includes pharmacy equipment, telephone, computer, printer, fax machine, copier, and other assigned office equipment. Work Environment Heart of Ohio Family Health operates multiple locations in Columbus, OH. All facilities feature a medical office environment with a front-desk reception area, patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways, and private restrooms. Primary Work Area The position primarily operates within the pharmacy on the second floor, with elevator access available. Pharmacy Area Conditions Maintained at a normal working temperature. Sanitized daily. Features standard pharmacy equipment with minimal opportunities to sit, requiring long hours of standing. Includes standard office equipment (computer, copier, fax machine) at a normal working height. Physical Demands Mobility: Ability to move easily without assistance. Bending: Occasional bending from the waist and knees. Reaching: Occasional reaching within normal arm stretch. Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry documents and files. Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push or pull within a normal office environment. Dexterity: Ability to handle and use office equipment accurately and quickly. Hearing: Ability to accurately hear and react to normal speech tones. Visual: Ability to see and react to objects in a normal setting. Speaking: Ability to pronounce words clearly for understanding by others.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00
