Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our outpatient pharmacy team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hospital experience and learn about outpatient routine and day-to-day operations within a large hospital system. The position includes holiday pay and sick pay, and candidates have the opportunity to start work while obtaining their National Certification.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate deliveries and pickups via phone throughout the work period.Provide timely communication to the Pharmacist for checking and general activities, ensuring proper customer service, patient/employee safety, operational/schedule needs, and inventory control.Recognize common drug names and select the proper drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity for review by the Pharmacist.Maintain proficiency in all pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing cabinet software and systems, and all technical equipment required to perform duties.Communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel.Perform basic office environment tasks.Essential Skills2+ years of retail pharmacy technician experience or customer service pharmacy experience.2+ years of billing and claims/patient service experience, including specialty and prior authorization experience.High school diploma or equivalent.Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within 6 months of starting.Comfortable on the phone with previous delivery coordination and claims/billing experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel.Aptitude to maintain proficiency in all pharmacy computer systems and technical equipment.Recognize common drug names and select proper drug, dosage form, strength, and quantity.Work Environment

You will be working within a closed-door outpatient pharmacy with a team of over 20 technicians and 5 pharmacists. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, and 9 AM to 5:30 PM. There are no weekend or holiday shifts required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00
