Description

The Pharmacy Technician I assists with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and in accordance with state pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities:

Fill prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.Assist in the training of new employees.Service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience in a pharmacy setting with medical terminology (6 months to a year).Ability to recognize and identify medications.Team player, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.Experience with medications and filling prescriptions required.Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Tennessee.

Shift:

2:30pm - 11:00am / Monday-Friday

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
