Job Description
The Pharmacy Fill Technician will assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and productivity of the pharmacy by filling prescription items, packaging medications, and labeling products appropriately.
ResponsibilitiesFill prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery while meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.Participate in the periodic inventory of drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.Assist in the training of new employees.Service facility-based medication dispensing machines.Essential SkillsPharmacy technician certification (Cpht)Experience in pharmaceutical distribution and compoundingData entry skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer service skillsAbility to use metric system and avoirdupois measuresAttention to detail and ability to work under deadlinesAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent6 months – 1 year of related experienceLicensed in the state of TennesseeWork Environment/ShiftClosed-door pharmacy where you can focus on fulfilling the pharmaceutical needs of our long-term care and senior living clients.Shifts available include 2:30pm-11pm Monday to Friday with rotating weekends on call.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
