Job Description
As an Order Entry Pharmacy Technician, you will triage, interpret, and input orders into a computerized medication order system while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards. You will audit inputs versus documentation, perform drug calculations, resolve issues of denials through adjudication, and follow up on claims. You will maintain current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes, produce reports on unpaid claims, provide excellent customer service, and assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Additional tasks as directed by management may include assisting in any area of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
+ Triage, interpret, and input orders into computerized medication order system.
+ Audit input versus documentation and make corrections as needed.
+ Perform drug calculations, including basic mathematical calculations.
+ Resolve issues of denials identified through adjudication and follow up on claims.
+ Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes.
+ Produce reports and inform management of unpaid claims and claims pending follow-up.
+ Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
+ Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned, including assisting in any area of the pharmacy as directed by management.
Essential Skills
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification
+ Pharmacy Technician Certificate
+ Experience in data entry
+ Knowledge of inventory management
+ Order entry skills
+ Understanding of medical terminology
+ Experience with medication and prescription refill processes
+ Familiarity with prescription processing software
+ Pharmaceutical calculations
+ Ability to handle denials
+ Excellent customer service skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
+ 6+ months of order entry, retail, and/or fulfillment pharmacy experience
+ Long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
+ Ability to recognize and identify medications
+ Excellent data entry skills
+ Ability to operate a computer
+ High level of attention to detail
+ Team player
+ Effective oral and written communication skills
Work Environment
This position is located in a closed-door pharmacy, allowing you to focus on fulfilling the pharmaceutical needs of long-term care clients. The work environment is more akin to a production and fulfillment warehouse. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, with shifts as follows: Tuesday 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Thursday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Friday 9:00 AM to 7:20 PM. The initial assignment length is 13 weeks, with potential for contract extension or conversion based on performance and business needs. Consultants must complete online training modules prior to starting. The organization offers a non-retail environment with advancement opportunities for career progression. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
