Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill prescriptions, prepare Sterile Compounding, and ensure adherence to USP 797 guidelines and state laws. ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain the Sterile Compounding room and QA as per USP 797 guidelines.Fill prescriptions and prepare Sterile Compounding according to quality standards, customer service, productivity guidelines, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.Handle Long-Term Care and Alere high-risk pregnancy medications.Stage, prepare, and fill orders for residents at long-term care facilities.Stage, prepare, and fill orders for high-risk pregnant women.Compound Sterile Compounding orders and syringes in a Class 100 clean room, including compounding medications from non-sterile powders as directed.Perform data entry and assist the pharmacist with calling nursing homes and Alere for refill orders.Maintain, clean, and ensure accountability of pumps.File, answer phones, and stock areas in the IV department as appropriate.Work with the Lead IV Technician to maintain a clean and safe work environment, and check equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness.Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits (EDK) for Long Term Care Facilities.Communicate with the Pharmacist, IV Supervisor, or Lead Technician regarding concerns about USP 797 guidelines.Ship and track Alere packages through overnight 3rd party logistics companies.Perform other tasks as assigned.Essential SkillsKnowledge of USP 797 guidelinesExperience with Long-Term Care and Alere high-risk pregnancy medicationsData entry skillsEffective communicationCA certified Pharmacy TechnicianAdditional Skills & QualificationsReliable attendance and punctualityCustomer service skillsHealthcare and medical assisting experienceWork Environment
This role is based in a medical center with 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm. The environment includes working in a Class 100 clean room and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The position involves interaction with a variety of medical equipment and requires adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
