Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated IV Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques, adhering to all documented instructions, warnings, and procedures. The candidate will ensure safe and effective drug preparation, perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and maintain accurate drug inventory through various activities in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards.

ResponsibilitiesMix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques.Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797.Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items.Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile when available.Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards.Maintain clean room logs.Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.Assist with on-call responsibilities as needed.Successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter.Understand and comply with confidentiality requirements concerning company proprietary information and patient/client care.Follow HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI).Essential SkillsCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)Compounding and IV preparation skillsDocumentation and data entry skillsInventory management skillsExperience in pharmacy, preferably with home infusion therapyExcellent organizational skills and ability to set prioritiesEffective communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environmentProficiency with computer systems (Windows, Office)Additional Skills & QualificationsState registration as a pharmacy technicianPharmacy Technician certification preferredExperience as a pharmacy technician preferredHome infusion therapy experience preferred but not requiredWork Environment

The work environment is a closed-door pharmacy with a team of 5 people. The dress code is business casual. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call responsibilities on weekends every three weeks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
