Pharmacy Technician Apprentice

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician Apprentices function as trainees and gain knowledge in packaging, preparing, and distributing medications, inventory control, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records. You will successfully complete and receive a diploma in Pharmacy Technology from the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months. **A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 3:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding). + Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations. + Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies. + Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. + Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner. + Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings. + Use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks. + Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + Upon hire, registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 12 months. + Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months. + Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds. + Basic computer skills.
