Pharmacy Technician Buyer

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for Pharmacy Tech Buyer to join our team at the new Central Pharmacy.

Orders pharmaceuticals and supplies maintaining adequate inventory controls.Purchases through the appropriate class of trade to meet contract compliance and financial budgets.Establishes, implements, maintains, and manages a pharmacy purchasing system that ensures proper controls, checks and balances are maintained.Maintains all purchase records, invoices, receipts and inventory control records.Understands 340B implications for ordering and purchases pharmaceuticals in accordance with requirements of the 340B Drug Pricing Program.Assists with receiving inventory into centralized pharmacy services center.Takes responsibility to reconcile any discrepancies identified between orders and shipments in a timely fashion.Reconciles and acknowledges/approves invoices and incoming credit memos.Establishes relationships with vendor and manufacturer representatives to stay informed about new developments and available resources.Assists in identifying cost savings initiatives in procurement, pricing, and clinical initiatives.Identifies and takes action when processes can be improved to reduce waste, improve workflow, optimize inventory and reduce drug expenses.Has control over inventory to ensure proper storage and rotation of all medications, removal of expired drugs, and return of any overstock of medications.Manages the pharmacy reverse distribution services.Manages product recalls ensuring timely communication, record keeping, and follow through.Keeps informed of drug shortages, identifies alternate sources for medications, and notifies pharmacy management with status updates.Reviews purchasing analysis reports and updates preferred NDC in automation software.Ensures negotiated contracts are effectively implemented through periodic audits of invoices.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency required.Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience.Current or eligible for Kentucky pharm tech registration by date of hire. If not already registered with KY Board of Pharmacy, registration requires only an application and fee.National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 6 months of hire.Completion of 340B University or Apexus certification within 1 year.
