Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician performs technical, specialized duties. The Pharmacy Technician does not perform duties that require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician assists the Staff Pharmacist in the technical and mechanical (non-professional) duties of all distribution systems. The Pharmacy Technician must have the ability to distinguish routine functions from those requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist; have the ability to initiate tasks/problem solving, organize and complete work without direct supervision.
Work Schedule
Full-time (72 hours biweekly). The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off with 10 hour shifts from 1:30pm - midnight.
Department Description
Inpatient Pharmacy - Provides 24-hour clinical and distributive Pharmacy services for our inpatient population. Use of a decentralized pharmacy model facilitates close collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals, emphasizing the concept of pharmaceutical care.
Experience Required
At least 6 months experience as a Pharmacy Technician (or similar job experience preferred), and have exhibited a high degree of reliability, dependability, above average flexibility in job adaptability and competency in previous work performance. The Pharmacy Technician must pass a competency test (>75%) within their 6 month probationary period.
