Certified Pharmacy Technician - Discharge - Outpatient Pharmacy
Job Summary
The Outpatient Pharmacy Discharge Technician performs technical (non-professional) duties involved in the operation of the outpatient drug distribution system by offering outpatient pharmacy services to patients being discharged from hospital. All work performed by the Outpatient Pharmacy Discharge Technician shall only be done under direct supervision of a pharmacist. The Outpatient Pharmacy Discharge Technician position requires skill and training, but does not perform duties requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist. The Outpatient Pharmacy Discharge Technician must have the communication skills necessary to function in an environment which services the public as well as hospital staff. The Outpatient Pharmacy Discharge Technician must maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Experience Required:
At least 6 months experience as a State Certified Pharmacy Technician exhibiting a high degree of reliability, dependability, and above average flexibility in job adaptability and competency in previous work performance. The Pharmacy Technician must pass a competency test (>75%) within their 6 month probationary period.
