Position Highlights:
Provides safe and effective drug therapy management to improve the outcomes of patients
Works centrally and de-centrally to perform all functions of a pharmacy technician including prepacking medications, restocking automated machines, mixing IVs, and auditing records.
Consults with pharmacists and other technicians to ensure the best patient care and patient safety
The Ideal Candidate:
Will have a minimum of 1 year of hospital experience
Must have a Florida pharmacy technician license
Responsibilities:
Prepacking of medications, refilling crash carts, filling first doses, and refilling automated dispensing machines with patient safety at the forefront and ensuring accuracy
Auditing of patient charts to ensure safety and accuracy of medication administration
Mixing IV medications utilizing proper technique and following all USP 797 regulations
Understand, follow and enforce regulations of USP 797, the joint commission and other hospital policies
Participates in the training of new technician students and technicians
Maintaining flexibly through different assignments
Credentials and Qualifications:
Licensed as a pharmacy technician in the state of Florida required
