PHARMACY TECHNICIAN II
Position Summary: This position will report to the Director of Pharmacy at St. Joseph Hospital and will be under the supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Manager with on-site supervision by the St. Joseph Internal Medicine Practice Operations Manager. Duties in this position will be predominantly carried out at St. Joseph Internal Medicine (SJIM). However, some activities and training may also occur in the Pharmacy Department. The pharmacy technician will be responsible for assisting with receipt and inventory management for specific medications in accordance with State and Federal regulations, provider orders, and maintaining hospital and clinic standards of practice. The technician will ensure strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance and will provide cordial and efficient coordination and communication of activities between all stakeholders. The individual will be responsible for medication prior authorization and coordination with appropriate stakeholders. Excellent communications skills are required as well as meticulous attention to detail associated with documentation required by law hospital/clinical practice. In addition, office and administrative support may be provided for both the pharmacy department and SJIM as requested. A high level of productivity and co-worker satisfaction is required. The individual will be required to perform all tasks in a manner that is consistent with the Mission and Core Values of St. Joseph Hospital. Education: High School Diploma/GED required Associates Degree preferred Experience: 1 – 3 years (preferred) Licensure: Maine Pharmacy Technician License unencumbered and in good standing Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) The starting rate for this position is: $18.62 Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale.
