Pharmacy Technician II
Overview Are you a trained or certified Pharmacy Technician? We at M Health Fairview are looking for you to join an excellent team over at our Southdale location! Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy technician services in a sophisticated medical environment. This may include unit dose dispensing technology and sterile medication compounding. The Technician II will strategically use interpersonal, customer service, decision-making and collaboration skills to support and influence operational objectives. This is a part time benefit eligible role! Responsibilities Job Description Partner with care providers and pharmacists to ensure that patient receives the needed medication accurately, safely, in accordance with all legal requirements and policies and in a professional and timely manner. Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from electronic medical record, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols, prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication accurately, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements. Maintain the IV hoods or isolators, clean room, ante room according to manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements as applicable. Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested. Participate in regulatory, quality assurance and process improvement activities and other projects as assigned. Support the training of new trainees. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Required Experience At least 3 months technician experience in a pharmacy. License/Certification/Registration Eligible to become registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MN State Board of Pharmacy and become certified with the PTCB. Nationally certified or become certified within 12 months of employment. Certifying exams must have National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation, with examples including, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and The Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). Preferred Education Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program Preferred Experience At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a pharmacy.
