Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Trainee - Patient Access
Job Description
This position can be filled by either a pharmacy technician trainee or a certified pharmacy technician. You will be responsible for handling inbound and occasional outbound calls, providing excellent customer service, processing live insurance claims, and assisting with copay issues. Your role will be crucial in ensuring patients receive their medications on time and with the correct information.
Responsibilities
+ Handle inbound and occasional outbound calls with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
+ Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients.
+ Process live insurance claims efficiently.
+ Make outbound and inbound calls to insurance companies, clinics, doctor staff, patients, and caregivers.
+ Assist with copay assistance and address inquiries regarding insurance information.
+ Investigate and provide updates on the status of patient orders.
+ Reschedule deliveries if necessary.
+ Input new insurance information for patients as needed.
+ Ensure meaningful follow-up with patients, completing 20-25 patient assignments per day.
Qualifications
+ Pharmacy technician certification or trainee license for Texas (TSBP)
+ Experience with prior authorization and insurance processes preferred.
+ Customer service skills.
+ Experience in a call center environment.
+ Familiarity with retail pharmacy operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Recent graduates or trainees with internship experience are encouraged to apply.
+ Candidates with a lapsed pharmacy technician license will also be considered.
Start Dates : 11/19, 12/3 & 12/10
Shifts : M-F 9-6p/ 10-7p CST
•Training: M-F 9am – 6pm CST
1st week orientation / then day or 2 of SOP
2nd week hands on training sitting with them.
3rd week they would do and the trainer observing.
4th week work independently
