Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Compiles, prepares, and generates purchase orders for pharmaceutical products ensuring a minimum supply is available always taking into consideration high usage, drug shortages, and unexpected/emergent usage. Monitor inflow and outflow of all pharmaceuticals, stocking to defined inventory levels. Aligns purchases to system contracts, programs, and initiatives. Maintain daily transactions including receipts, invoices, issues, purchase orders, and adjustments which are loaded into the purchasing and ERP system.  Works to ensure proper accountability of all drug receipts and transactions are maintained in compliance with Drug Supply Chain and Security Act (DSCSA), contracts, and 340b as applicable. Ensures customer requests are process timely in a cost efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions

Compile, prepare, and generate purchase orders for pharmaceuticals and related pharmacy products ensuring a minimum supply is available always taking into consideration high usage, drug shortages, and unexpected/emergent usage

Collaborate with system and local pharmacy teams to ensure standard ordering and approval processes are achieved and maintained related to pharmacy purchases. 

Provide oversight and guidance in ensuring appropriate compliance toward perpetual inventory system. Monitor outdated items and process returns accordingly. Coordination of annual/other required physical inventory procedures.  Work with accounts payable to ensure timely processing and reconciliation of invoices.

Align purchases to system contracts, programs, and initiatives

Work with both system and local pharmacy teams to establish plans and processes around current drug shortages

Process and authorize payment for all invoices for merchandise received or credited per established procedure

Management of pharmacy inventory documentation for compliance with DSCSA and 340b requirements

Provide guidance to pharmacy waste and charge discrepancy tracking process

Process and fulfill customer orders ensuring all product is packaged and tracked appropriately to minimize waste and financial discrepancies

Put away orders in both LUM and Bulk storage areas

Track inventory in appropriate systems to maintain counts and organization in a complex inventory matrix

Pick, Pack, and Ship utilizing Epic Willow Inventory

Responsible for performing a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product

Operate Forklift

Understand purchasing functions in adjacent facility for cross coverage

Licensing/Certification

Forklift Certified (required within 30 days of hire)

Valid Drivers License (required)

Pharmacy Technician Certification/Registration (preferred)

Education

High school diploma (required)

Associates (preferred)

Work Experience

2 years' experience in a pharmacy field, materials management, supply chain, or purchasing (required)

Pharmacy field, materials management, supply chain, or purchasing experience (preferred)

Warehouse Operations experience (preferred)

Epic Inventory system experience (preferred)
