Job DescriptionAt Bosch, the durability and reliability of our products are of central importance to ensuring long-lasting product performance and high-quality standards. A crucial aspect of durability is corrosion resistance of our components. Most corrosive failure modes on component level are driven by the interaction of the multiphysical phenomena occurring at the microstructure of the material in-service. Here, we actively research by utilizing state-of-the art tools and (computational) methods. You shall become part of that story.
By leveraging multiphysics-multiscale modeling, this joint research activity aims to enhance our understanding and predictive capabilities of these complex phenomena. The main task will be the development of a peridynamics modeling methodology for the microstructural corrosion enabling computational assessment of Bosch product performance, e.g. by post-processing via data science approaches. This work is supported by a team of respective experts and promotes early career development at the frontiers of Bosch research agenda.
You will develop and implement a computational (peridynamics) modeling framework as well as verify, parameterize and validate the developed framework with the support of experimental data.In addition, you will apply industrial use cases. It is clear that you disseminate as well as publish the scientific results and collaborate close with external academic partners.QualificationsEducation: degree (Master or equivalent) in Engineering (Computational Engineering), Applied Mathematics or Physics with excellent academic achievementsExperience and Knowledge: profound knowledge of physics and numerical methods; experience in model development and simulation; ideally, first experiences with multiphysics and/or peridynamics modeling; very good programming skills, e.g. Python, C++; domain knowledge of corrosion and/or general electrochemistry is a plus Personality and Working Practice: you like to work independently and know how to structure your tasks properly; you enjoy using your creative streak and have a high level of enthusiasm and team spiritLanguages: very good in English (written and spoken), German is a plusAdditional Informationhttps://www.bosch-ai.com
