The Department of Radiology at Ochsner Health is excited to invite applications for the position of Director of Research. We are seeking a visionary and accomplished leader in radiology research, particularly individuals with a strong track record of extramural funding, such as RO1 grants, and a proven ability to lead groundbreaking research programs. This role offers the opportunity to shape and elevate radiology research at one of the nation’s premier healthcare systems.
Key Opportunities and Resources:
Access to Cutting-Edge Technology and Data: Our research environment is equipped with world-class facilities, including a cyclotron, whole-body PET/CT, 3 Tesla MRI, and the upcoming acquisition of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology. In addition, our spectral-detector computed tomography enhances research capabilities in innovative imaging. Rich Data Ecosystem: Ochsner Health’s unified PACS and RIS system across 46 hospitals and multiple clinics offers a unique opportunity to access a vast dataset for large-scale studies in both basic and translational research. The ideal candidate will hold an MD-PhD, PhD, or foreign equivalent and demonstrate substantial accomplishments in basic or translational research in radiology. The applicant should also possess:
A track record of securing extramural funding (e.g., RO1 grants or equivalent). A history of high-impact publications and successful grant writing. Leadership skills demonstrated through managing research programs or teams. Experience mentoring junior faculty, trainees, and clinical researchers.
