P&G is seeking a PhD candidate with chemistry expertise for a role that intersects chemistry and life science innovation.  The candidate will guide and influence technical project direction and tackle significant technical problems by demonstrating scientific/engineering skills and strong foundational R&D understanding developed through hands-on experimentation/application.​

Job Qualifications

Required skills/experiences for the role:

A PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related disciplineValidated technical mastery in one or more of the following areas of chemistry:  synthetic organic chemistry, molecular design and synthesis, colloid science, formulation chemistry, and/or polymer chemistrySolid foundation in experimental techniques with excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and technical difficultyAbility to develop structure-activity and/or structure-property-activity relationships in the chemistry spaceExperience in technical method/model development and ability to understand mechanism of actionStrong ownership & self-leadership skills to understand the business objective and technical problem to be solved, formulate hypotheses and develop test plans, and collaborate with project team for test method development and technology developmentAbility to independently work project priorities, multi-task, and handle a wide variety of sophisticated, non-routine/routine tasks in a fast-paced environmentIs able to analyze sophisticated data using basic statistics to draw conclusions and influence technical recommendationsDigital proficiency with ability to apply digital tools to accelerate scientific researchExcellent written and oral communication skills

Highly desired skills and experiences for the role:

Experience using chemistry background to influence biological end pointsThe ability to recognize opportunities for capabilities or technologies to be reapplied across programs and fields for accelerated technology discovery/developmentEntrepreneurial/startup experience and/or industrial experience
