THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Development Assistant at YMCA of Southwest Florida stewards the Y’s cause, promoting and protecting the brand and reputation as a global, inclusive organization within the community. Under the direction of the VP of Philanthropy, and in partnership with the Development Manager, the Development Assistant performs clerical tasks, provides administrative support to the team, performs data entry and ensures consistency of processes.
RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Process donations and create and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence daily.
· Maintain all donor files and the donor database.
· Create fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
· Coordinate new donor mailings.
· Scan and digitally save RE batches.
· Input employee and DAXKO donations monthly.
· Order Cause Champion trophies monthly.
· Order community impact materials as needed.
· Clean up database missing information.
· Assist with database cleanup.
· Coordinate productions and mailings for annual campaign and any other direct mailing campaigns.
· Office management duties included but not limited to weekly office supply orders for the department, communication with IT regarding problems with technology etc., coordination of catering for Development meetings.
· Assist development team with all special events.
· Timely and detailed preparation of monthly pledge receivables and payment schedule.
· Other duties as assigned by the supervisor may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
On-site attendance is required of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Database management experience – Razors Edge preferred.Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to organize and prioritize work.Ability to work independently.Highschool diploma.A minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative position.Able to maintain confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, particularly the ability to read, analyze, write, and edit reports according to prescribed style/format.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and peers. Ability to meet deadlines, as well as the ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, reason and solve problems. Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and standard business software systems.CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
· CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.
· Completion of YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training annually
· Completion of YMCA’s Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Class annually
· Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
