Philanthropy Officer – Foundation Missoula

The Philanthropy Officer for the Providence Health Care Foundation, Montana, uses a team approach to engage senior administrators, department managers, foundation staff and volunteer leaders to implement initiatives with current and prospective donors to deepen their commitment to the Providence hospitals and their understanding of its vision and priorities.

The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for cultivating and soliciting a personal major gift ($10,000+) prospect portfolio with the aim of securing donations and sponsorships and assisting with the day-to-day development needs of Providence Health Care Foundation.

Additionally, the Philanthropy Officer leads a variety of foundation-related special projects and activities while working with board members and key leadership volunteers.  Philanthropy Officer also works with Director of Special Events securing major sponsorships for foundation related events.  Also works with Director of Planned Giving for deferred and planned giving opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Comparable experience totaling five(5) years of progressively responsible full-time sales, marketing, public relations or experience which has involved direct face-to-face contact with clients; customers, prospective customers and members of the public. 5 years progressively responsible relevant experience which includes: three years of full-time fundraising experience demonstrating success of face-to-face solicitation of gifts of $10,000 or more, mass market fundraising, proposal and grant writing, donor stewardship and strong skills working with volunteers.  A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. 1 year Managerial experience.
