What You’ll Be Doing

As a Philanthropy Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives and other philanthropic reporting efforts. You will be responsible for tracking and analyzing CRA performance metrics using systems such as Kadince, Benevity, and Excel, while also supporting charitable contributions, employee giving, and fundraising activities. Additionally, you will assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries to ensure compliance with bank policies and industry regulations.

How You’ll Succeed

Support Bank-Wide Philanthropy Initiatives: Assist with employee giving, fundraising activities, and community events, ensuring smooth execution and accurate reporting.

Manage Charitable Contributions: Process donations, maintain grant systems, and provide reporting on bank-wide philanthropic efforts.

Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Support internal and external audits, respond to regulatory inquiries, and maintain accurate documentation of donations and CRA-related activities.

Coordinate Meetings & Presentations: Assist with preparing materials for committee and council meetings, ensuring key stakeholders are informed.

Monitor Communications & Calendar: Manage event calendars and team mailboxes to ensure timely responses and coordination of philanthropic initiatives.

Foster Community Relationships: Serve as a resource for donation-related inquiries and maintain strong relationships with community groups and organizations.


Who You Are

Experienced in philanthropy and reporting: You have a related college degree or 3-5 years of related experience and a strong understanding of banking applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Detail-oriented and organized: You have strong organizational skills, ensuring accuracy in reporting and follow-through on multiple projects.

Strong communicator: You excel in both verbal and written communication, ensuring information is documented clearly and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaborative and adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

Creative problem-solver: You approach challenges with efficiency and professionalism, finding solutions that support the bank’s philanthropic mission.

Self-motivated and proactive: You take initiative in managing multiple projects and can work effectively under compressed time constraints.

Accurate and timely reporting: You effectively track, analyze, and report on CRA performance metrics and donations.

Seamless event coordination: You help plan and execute philanthropy initiatives, ensuring high engagement and impact.

Regulatory excellence: You support audits and regulatory examinations with organized, compliant documentation.

Effective stakeholder engagement: You build strong relationships with internal teams and community partners, ensuring philanthropic efforts align with the bank’s mission.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $60,000 - 70,000 for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
