Position in this function is responsible for drawing blood on patients, performing necessary in-house testing, and preparing specimens sent to reference lab.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent Current National certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist or the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employment. Phlebotomists who are hired prior to receiving their certification are expected to perform at the same level as a “certified” Phlebotomist 1+ years of related experience Knowledge of laboratory techniques to perform routine blood and urine tests Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks Knowledge of medical terminology Skill in operating a variety of laboratory instrumentation Skill in preparing written reports concerning the results of laboratory tests and input data into computer system Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public Computer literacy Proven ability to maintain all materials for collection Proven ability to read and understand oral and written instructions Proven ability to follow written protocols Proven ability to work independently Proven good communication and customer service skills
