Phlebotomist
Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information. The ideal candidate will collect and store specimens according to established procedures, clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections, demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, and fully understand all physicians' orders. Responsibilities also include matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders, checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy, packaging specimens for transport, and storing specimen samples according to required temperatures. The candidate must understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend annual department trainings, and answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey. Work Environment Back area is processing. Centrifuge, processing SPM, and entering data into the system to get out to the main lab, all electronically. The candidate must keep up with a high volume and fast pace. Oncology experience is a plus, and difficult sticks experience is needed. The candidate should try not to stick patients more than 2 times. No certification is needed for this phlebotomist position.
