Phlebotomist

Position Summary:
The phlebotomist will be required to perform procedures to include venipuncture, capillary puncture, and bedside testing. The phlebotomist is also responsible for accurate patient identification and proper labeling of specimens at the bedside. The phlebotomist must also be able to communicate with patients, doctors, and other hospital staff.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a phlebotomy training course required OR on the job training with at least one year of phlebotomy experience in a CAP certified hospital laboratory required. CPR certification required, PBT (ASCP), CPT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
Job Knowledge:
Must have a thorough understanding of Clinical Laboratory procedures.
