We are seeking an experienced and proficient Phlebotomist with at least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate must be comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one, possess strong communication skills, and be reliable and punctual. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information accurately.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperatures and follow specific protocols to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with straight needles and comfortable performing venipunctures independently from day one.Strong communication skills.Bilingual in Spanish and English.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in specimen collection.Capability to perform mock blood draws with phlebotomy professionals.Work EnvironmentJob Title: Phlebotomist

The position is based at a patient service center located in Mount Vernon, which sees 60-70 patients daily. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 12pm to 5pm, totaling 25 hours per week. No weekend shifts are required.
