Job Title: Phlebotomist - Part-time

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II who is skilled in performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. The candidate will collect and store specimens according to established procedures and properly explain the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection in a clear and courteous manner.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.Accurately label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Fully understand and follow all physicians' orders.Essential SkillsPhlebotomyBlood drawDrawing bloodPediatric phlebotomyGeriatric phlebotomyCertified phlebotomistAdditional Skills & QualificationsValid/active IL phlebotomy certificationMinimum of 1-2 years work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab, ambulatory setting, or hospital settingExperience with high draw volumeExperience with newborn drawsBilingual in Spanish is a nice to haveWork Environment

The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 7:30pm, and every other Friday and Saturday from 8am to 5pm, totaling 26 hours per week.
