Description:
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by the laboratoryAssesses job functions and takes appropriate action when problems are detected.Identifies problems with specimens, test orders, registration and takes appropriate actionIdentifies patients and specimens correctly from beginning of process to release of results.Accessions specimens into the Laboratory Information System, accurately recording pertinent data to be used by the physician in the interpretation of tests resultsCollects blood samples by appropriate method on premature babies to geriatric patients utilizing prescribed safety and infection control procedures to protect the patient and the phlebotomistInvestigates, documents and follows up on customers concerns, inquiries and provides prompt, polite customer serviceRequirements:
