We depend on our lab staff to help determine what is happening with our patients. They are a vital key to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Connect with CHI today and start your journey! **Some of what you will do:** + Obtain blood specimens by capillary puncture or venipuncture using appropriate technique. + Correctly identifies patient per written protocol and properly labels specimens accurately and completely while maintaining the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed. + Exercises judgment in determining work priority. Interacts with nursing units to ascertain critical priorities and verify discrepancies. + Disposes of contaminated lab supplies and handles all lab specimens regarding potential health hazards according to written procedures. + Receives laboratory specimens orders tests processes specimens using the centrifuge and + Distributes specimens to appropriate testing areas communicating special instructions. + Maintains professional attitude with patients visitors hospital staff and fellow employees while assuring the confidentiality of all hospital information. Discusses problems in a professional adult and calm manner. + Maintains and operates test systems for optimal performance; collaborates with tech or technician to resolve technical issues. **Qualifications** Education/Licensure: High School Diploma or GED is required. 1 year lab experience preferred **Pay Range** $15.15 - $20.84 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
