Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/Lab Aide to join our extensive medical group. This part-time position requires strong customer service skills, computer proficiency, and a valid CPT CA license. You will be working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, drawing blood and processing specimens. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to float and split shifts.

ResponsibilitiesDraw blood from patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Process and run samples after drawing blood.Pick up STAT specimens as needed.Provide excellent customer service to patients.Ensure computer proficiency for lab system operations, such as Cerner.Maintain flexibility with shifts and hours, including working 11 am - 7:30 pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.Travel to various locations within the region as required.Uphold the values of the organization through professional conduct.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy certificationBlood draw experienceValid CPT CA licenseBLS certificationExperience with neonatal to geriatric patientsComputer proficiency with lab systems (e.g., Cerner)Strong customer service skillsMinimum six months experience in an acute or sub-acute settingExperience with pediatric and infant drawsExcellent attendance and behavior recordAdditional Skills & QualificationsHospital experience is a mustExperience in outpatient settings (e.g., LabCorp, Quest)Ability to draw 45-55 patients within an 8-hour shift in outpatient settingsAbility to draw 20-30 patients within an 8-hour shift in inpatient settingsSome medical background to understand specimen urgency and blood draw techniquesWork Environment

You will be working in medical centers and medical office buildings in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This part-time position requires a flexible schedule, with shifts primarily from 7 am to 3:30 pm. You will need to travel to various locations within the region, delineated by North County and South County, which includes Central East and South quadrants.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00
