Title: Phlebotomist

Role Description
The purpose of a Phlebotomist at Oak Street Health is to conduct CLIA waived point of care tests, and to collect, prepare, and send any other tests to our laboratory partners, ensuring a seamless primary care experience for patients. Phlebotomists also serve as liaisons between our centers and our lab partners.
Phlebotomists report to the Practice Manager or Center Operations Supervisor. Phlebotomists are an integral part of Oak Street Health's Clinical teams. High levels of flexibility, attention to detail, initiative and problem solving are required to be successful in this role. You will be expected to build relationships with Oak Street Health patients and team members. Phlebotomists work closely and collaboratively with their teammates and will be expected to assist in assessing patients' health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments.

Responsibilities
Perform routine point of care, laboratory, and diagnostic testing during appointments at our centers
Confirm orders, collect specimens, label, process, and store for pick-up by our laboratory partners
Conduct regular quality controls as required
Maintain refrigerator and freezer temperature logs
Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements, including being a champion of HIPAA compliance and CLIA waived site best practices
Train and assist team members on proper lab procedures
Follow all safety, quality, and cleanliness protocols and champion new protocols
Coordinate with our laboratory partner to order lab supplies and manage inventory
Other duties assigned by Practice Manager, as allowed by state regulations
What we're looking for:
Required Qualifications:
Experience in phlebotomy
CPR or BLS Certification
Electronic Medical Record experience
Computer skills: Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs to include, but not limited to: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, etc
Proficiency in non-English languages as required by center's demographics.
US work authorization
Someone who embodies being 'Oaky'
Strongly preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with local area lab partner's procedures and computer-based lab system
Phlebotomy Technician Certification, as required by state
2 or more years of phlebotomy experience, experience working with geriatric patients.
