Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist. The ideal candidate will hold a phlebotomy certification, demonstrate reliability, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A welcoming and bubbly personality is preferred.

ResponsibilitiesPerform phlebotomy procedures including blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, and recording maintenance data.Update patient information and ensure accurate labeling and storage of specimens.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients.Demonstrate proper techniques using straight needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures and protocols.Essential Skills2+ years of phlebotomy experience with straight needles.Phlebotomy certification.Proficiency in specimen collection, patient care, and venipuncture.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 1 year work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Work Environment

This position is located at a members-only facility in Sunnyside, NY. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:45 AM to 5:45 PM. The environment is fast-paced and requires a welcoming and professional demeanor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00
