Phlebotomist
Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting specimens according to established procedures. This includes drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. You will research test and client information, confirm and verify all written and electronic orders, and complete all data entry requirements accurately. This role also involves entering billing information, collecting payments, and safeguarding assets and credit card information. Additionally, you will be responsible for data entry and processing specimens, performing clerical duties, and maintaining logs. Responsibilities + Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. + Research test and client information, confirm and verify all written and electronic orders. + Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry. + Enter billing information and collect payments, safeguarding assets and credit card information. + Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test protocols. + Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones. + Verify patient demographic information and initials, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly in the patient's presence. + Maintain appropriate phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs. + Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques. + Stay updated on company communications. Essential Skills + Proficiency in phlebotomy, venipuncture, finger sticks, and blood draw techniques. + Experience with straight and butterfly needles. + At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience. + Strong customer service skills. + Ability to collect vitals. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous travel experience is preferred. + Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients. + Detail-oriented with the capability to carry out tasks with all necessary details. + Flexibility in work hours and tasks. Work Environment This role involves extensive travel between nursing and assisted living homes and includes both facility and home draws. The position requires availability Monday to Friday, with start times as early as 6 AM if needed, and typically starting around 7 AM. The workday ends by 4:30 PM. There is a Saturday rotation every 5th or 6th week for pickups from 8 AM to 3 PM. The role offers a car allowance of $250.00 per month and a gas card. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31200.00 - $41600.00 All full-time employee working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits. As a new hire, you are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
