Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and decontamination. The role involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures while maintaining a high standard of patient care and compliance with regulations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Properly explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients.Collect and store specimens following established protocols.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes and accurately label them.Follow specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department training sessions.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Essential SkillsProficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques.Experience with blood draws, specimen collection, and specimen processing.Strong customer service skills.Phlebotomy certification.Familiarity with medical and laboratory procedures.2+ years of work experience in phlebotomy.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.0-2 years of relevant experience.Work EnvironmentThe position is full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. No floating is required.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00
