Join the UPMC Northwest team as a casual Phlebotomist! This position offers varied shifts (4:30am-1:00pm, 10:30am-7:00pm, 12:30pm-9:00pm), serving approximately 12 hours per week. In this role, there is the opportunity to –

Interact with laboratory customers professionally, ensuring timely responses to inquiries. Follow patient identification procedures to collect blood specimens via venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick. Demonstrate reliability and independent judgment to prioritize tasks based on department needs. Transport specimens from on-site and off-site locations to the appropriate laboratory sections safely. Adhere to laboratory and hospital policies on procedures, quality control, safety, and compliance. Perform clerical duties, accurately entering demographic and test information into the system. Train and orient new employees, students, and residents, as assigned. Inform technical staff or supervisors of any unusual or problematic incidents related to specimen collection.
