Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience with straight needles and a valid phlebotomy certification. Candidates must be reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess a welcoming personality. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment. + Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection in a clear and courteous manner. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to required temperature. + Place samples in appropriate collection containers, accurately label them, and follow specific procedures for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen. Essential Skills + Minimum of 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Experience in specimen collection, patient care, venipuncture, and phlebotomy. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Phlebotomy certification. + A bubbly and welcoming personality is preferred. Work Environment This position is based at a members-only location in New York, with travel required to cover all four Hotel Trade sites: 265 Ashland Place, Brooklyn; 37-, Sunnyside, Queens; 133 Morningside, Harlem; and Midtown- 50th and 9th. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:45am-5:45pm. The facilities are not open to the general public, and there is an opportunity for consistent work with most consultants working up to 45 hours weekly. There is also the potential to transition to a direct role after the contract. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
