Phlebotomist- Englewood & Passaic
Job Title: Phlebotomist - Englewood & PassaicJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. This role requires working in both OBGYN and internal medicine settings, with a focus on high volume blood draw experience. Responsibilities + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) to patients. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Fully understand all physicians' orders. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. + Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy. + Package specimens for transport. + Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label, and follow different procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport. + Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills + Proficiency in blood draws and phlebotomy. + *Must be Bilingual* + Experience with high volume blood draws. + Experience in internal medicine and OBGYN settings. + Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). + Skill in centrifuging and accessioning. + Experience with straight needles. + Ability to monitor blood pressure. Additional Skills & Qualifications + GED or High School Diploma. + Phlebotomy certification. Work Environment The work environment includes both OBGYN and internal medicine offices. The specific schedule is as follows: Monday & Wednesday in OBGYN Englewood (Monday: 9:30am-6:30pm, Wednesday: 11am-7:30pm), and Tuesday & Saturday in an internal medicine office in Passaic (Tuesday: 8:30am-3:30pm, Saturday: 8:30am-2pm). The role requires working in smaller office settings, providing exposure to a variety of medical environments within a larger company. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
