Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist (Float) to join our team. This role involves traveling to multiple outpatient clinic locations across Metro Detroit to perform blood draws, process samples, and ensure their proper packaging and shipment to medical testing sites. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to commute to various offices as needed.
ResponsibilitiesDraw patient blood samples 30-50 times per day.Process and package blood samples properly.Communicate daily with clinic staff to organize and schedule blood draws.Schedule pick-ups and shipping of samples to medical testing sites in Novi/Farmington.Commute to multiple offices throughout Metro Detroit, including Livonia, Riverview, Dearborn Heights, Canton, Allen Park, and Westland.Adapt to schedule changes that may occur as late as the morning of the workday.Essential SkillsProficiency in blood draw, phlebotomy, venipuncture, processing, and packaging samples.At least three years of experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant.Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification or certificate.Ability to perform 200 or more solo draws.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of the order of draw and BD Vacutainer order of draw tube colors for multiple tube collections.Strong skills with straight needles, the primary needle used.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma.Work Environment
The team wears navy blue scrubs. When working offsite, you will be paired with another phlebotomist from the team. Work hours typically range from 8am to 5pm, though exact times may vary slightly depending on the day and location. This position offers great hands-on phlebotomy experience in outpatient settings and includes potential raises at six months.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00
