We are seeking an experienced and reliable Phlebotomist with a minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with straight needles and butterfly needles, along with pediatric experience. Strong communication skills, punctuality, and dependability are essential for this role.
ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and handle decontamination.Update patient information accurately.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection processes to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperatures, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, and accurately label them following specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.Essential SkillsSpecimen collectionPhlebotomyPatient careVenipunctureBlood drawAdditional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of 3 years work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or outpatient setting.Work Environment
The position requires travel to various locations in Queens and Long Island, including Elmhurst, Woodhaven, Woodside, Far Rockaway, Patchogue, Westbury, and Brentwood. Travel expenses such as parking, tolls, and mileage will be reimbursed. The work hours are between 7am-8pm, Monday to Friday, with every other or every third Saturday from 9am-3pm. The role offers the opportunity for consistent overtime.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
