Job Title: Certified Phlebotomist

Job Description

The main function of a Certified Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information accurately.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store specimen samples according to the required temperature.Essential SkillsBlood drawVenipunctureSpecimen collectionPhlebotomy certificationSpecimen processingPhlebotomyCustomer servicePediatricGeriatricsMedical terminologyAdditional Skills & Qualifications2 year + as a Certified Phlebotomist RequiredExperience in geriatrics and pediatricsPatient care experienceEMR experienceWork Environment

This position involves working in a clinical environment where you will use various medical tools and technologies. You will be required to adhere to safety protocols and maintain a professional demeanor. The role may involve handling sensitive patient information and working with patients of all ages.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00
