The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, properly explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections in a clear but courteous manner, and demonstrating techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

**PLEASE READ**

This position requires you to work 7 days week. The shift will have you work between the hours from 6am- 11am. Most days you will be out by 9am. This job is perfect from someone who likes early mornings. Some weeks you will be full-time hours, however, its more of a part-time opportunity.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information as required.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) clearly and courteously.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperatures.Essential SkillsPhlebotomyVenipunctureExperience with blood draws, labeling specimens, and centrifuging specimensAbility to update patient informationExperience with recording maintenance data and decontaminationAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Experience with order of draw and labeling tubesWork Environment

You will also be floating between the Bethany and OKC offices.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00
