Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Queen Creek Job Description We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to join our team in Queen Creek. This role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontaminating equipment, and updating patient information. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills and be able to handle a fast-paced environment efficiently. Responsibilities + Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. + Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles. + Fully understand and follow all physician orders. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order. + Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% accurate against the script. + Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature. + Place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately label them, and follow specific procedures for transport to maintain specimen integrity. + Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department trainings. + Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Essential Skills + Phlebotomy skills, including blood draws. + Experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. + High School Diploma or GED. + 5-7 years of experience in phlebotomy. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Troubleshooting skills and the ability to make workflow recommendations. + Strong communication skills for explaining procedures and answering inquiries. Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The work environment may require handling biohazardous materials and adhering to strict safety protocols. Regular use of standard lab equipment, including centrifuges and specimen containers, is expected. The role involves direct interaction with patients, requiring clear and courteous communication at all times. Hours 7a-4p M-F Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.59/hr.
