The Mobile Phlebotomist is part of a group of Caregivers who travel to provide phlebotomy services to patients in settings such as contracted care facilities, patient homes, and health fair settings. They also serve as a member of the Outreach phlebotomy team within Intermountain facilities. This position is responsible to accurately and compassionately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing while working in a professional, medical environment. They communicate closely and frequently with other members of the team, checking in throughout the day. Caregivers in this role will gain valuable experience and knowledge to help prepare them for workplace and career advancement.Sign on bonus Eligible - $1750
Job Essentials
The Mobile Phlebotomist safely travels to contracted facilities and/or patient homes to perform specimen collection using many different techniques and utilizing various levels of personal protective equipment. These caregivers compassionately communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family members and demonstrate empathy during every interaction.
Mobile Phlebotomists are skilled and highly competent as they operate independently with little or no on-site support for difficult collections. These caregivers are expected to provide an excellent specimen collection experience for patients in remote locations.
Duties for this position include: maintaining accurate patient logs, monitoring patient scheduling systems, and patient registration. They may also assist with training and mentoring new staff, preparing and processing specimens, participation in special projects, accurate and timely record keeping (e.g. patient records, mileage for reimbursement) and other laboratory responsibilities as required by site.
